( This post isn’t about leadership but it’s still a lesson I think we all need to be reminded of now and then. ) I read a story about a young woman who had just graduated high school. Her father said to her, “ Here is a car that I bought many years ago. It’s pretty old now but, before I give it to you, I want you to take it to the used car lot downtown and tell them I want to sell it. See how much they’ll offer you for it. ” She did as he asked and returned. “ They offered me $1,000 because they said it looked pretty worn out. ” He then asked her to take the car to the pawn shop.
